As a result of the worldwide industrialization, the increasing number of production facilities, the decrease in natural resources and the problems such as environmental pollution have become the priority agenda at the international level. In this context, as Savaştepe Municipality, we plan to be among the cities that deal with the issue sensitively and to reduce the amount of waste, to prevent the depletion of resources and to prevent the unnecessary use of resources, with the slogan of “Join the Transformation,” aiming at the recycling of unused textile products. Within the scope of the project, 30 textile recycling bins will be placed in Savaştepe district. The textile wastes collected by the workers to be assigned by the Savaştepe Municipality will be sorted according to the fabric color and type and brought to the SAVAŞTEPE BALMEK (Balıkesir Savaştepe Art and Vocational Education Institution) institution located in the district. Textile products will be processed by a total of 25 people, 20 women and 5 men, who work voluntarily in the institution. As a result of the process, clothes suitable for re-wearing will be given free of charge to the needy living in the district. Products used in daily life such as tablecloths, seat covers, beach towels, cleaning cloths, decorative products, rugs and artistic handcrafted products will be made from textile products that cannot be worn again. These products will be sold at the recycling stand in the market established in the district center and in the online market. It is planned to prevent problems such as the transportation or storage of solid wastes, to meet the needs of those in need, and to contribute to the environment and economy with the “Join the Transformation” recycling project.
