The proposed integrated action, taking into account all relevant COVID-19 measures, includes:

• The reuse of waste materials, discarded by residents, in order to construct useful household items, by the members of “Action Team”, a NGO based in Kavala. The process of transforming waste into useful items will be recorded and the video will be shared through the Municipality of Kavala social media accounts as well as broadcasted in local TV stations.
• Wood and metal bulky waste items, discarded by residents, will be collected and processed by Municipality of Kavala personnel, in order to construct actual benches that can be installed in the municipality’s open spaces. The whole process will be recorded and the video will be shared through the Municipality of Kavala social media accounts as well as broadcasted in local TV stations.

Through these awareness – raising actions, the public can be informed of:

• some of the many ways that their waste can be actually regarded as resources.
• of the practical aspects of reducing waste generation, by integrating aspects of circular economy in practice, in accordance with the New Waste National Management Plan 2020 – 2030.
