Tesco PL donates unsold surplus food and educates children about food waste

• WHAT will be done

Description:

  • Tesco PL will during the EWWR week spread the info about autumn education campaign on food waste – Food Explorers program for children
  • Tesco PL will use the social media channels to inform that every week Tesco PL donates unsold surplus food from the stores to Food Banks to rescue food from wasting and helps people in need together.
  • Tesco PL estimates to donate more than 41 tons of unsold surplus food to Food Banks in Poland during EWWR week.
  • Tesco CE  will  share the achievments:
    • over 454 tons of non-recyclable or hard-to-recycle materials eliminated from our own brand packaging in Central Europe
    • over 5 mln F&F hangers (over 200 tons) reused since June 2019
    • Over 60000 tonnes of secondary cardboards / foil / aluminium being recycled from our stores in DC’s RSU units (Recyclable Service Units) every year.
