My mother took my wedding dress that I wore in 2011, she dismantled it into parts and sewed it again into a First Holy Communion for my daughter, She reused all the fabric for the dress. For the veil, she wore the same veil that I wore for my own first holy communion around 40 years ago and which was intact.
