Compost Corner & Pledge Wall
• WHAT will be done
Description:
• Compost Corner
EkoSkola students are launching a mini composting project to teach the school community about sustainable waste management. They’ll restore an unused compost bin, where students will learn first hand about compostable materials. Food scraps, such as fruit peels collected from classrooms, will be used to kick-start the compost. Under the guidance of the environment teacher and other experts, EkoSkola will manage and maintain the bin effectively. This initiative aims to spark conversations within the school and among families about composting’s role in reducing food waste and nurturing a more eco-friendly community.
- Pledge Wall
EkoSkola students will transform unused noticeboards in prominent school locations into a “Pledge Wall” where students can visually express their waste-reduction goals. Through written pledges or creative drawings, students will commit to actions like using refillable water bottles, packing snacks in reusable containers, and reducing food waste. This engaging wall will serve as a daily reminder of our shared responsibility toward a more sustainable, waste-conscious school community.
