The aim of our action is to raise awareness among students about the reduction of food waste also through the use of wild herbs, which are widely present in our territory. Wild herbs, a basic ingredient of the Sicilian culinary tradition, not only represent a zero-mile product, and at zero cost, but above all they have a very low environmental impact. For all the reasons listed above, an action to enhance the poor and traditional Sicilian cuisine can help us to safeguard the environment and safeguard our health. At the date of November 21st, the first classes of the Middle school of our Institute will present to the other classes of the Institute, to the Head teacher,  all the Professors, to the head of the territorial Kalat Ambiente SRR and their families the results of their work consisting in a small but funny wild herbs based Sicilian food recipe book and a short video attesting the different steps of the project conducted both at school and at home.
