Sonae Campus is the headquarters of Sonae in Portugal. Between 18th and 22nd November, with Lipor and Eurest, we will develop a set of actions to impact our universe of more than 3,500 employees. We will have a mix of actions promoted with internal communication, locally on the restaurant during the lunch hour and an online session:
- During the lunch hour between 18th and 22nd November, we will have in the restaurant:
- An equipment, where we invite employees to place their tray in the end of their meals. The equipment weight the food waste generated on the plate.
- A digital quizz about recycling that employees can answer questions.
- On 21st November, during the morning, we will have an online session open to all employees to know more about how repair electrical and electronic equipment and with these tips, reduce the food waste. On the one hand, millions of tons of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) are currently produced, with a major impact on ecosystems and society’s quality of life. On the other hand, one of the main causes of food waste at home, in addition to the expired expiration date, the aesthetic aspects of food and the lack of meal planning, is the storage of food in inadequate conservation conditions. With this workshop, our employees will learn tips for taking care of the household appliances, extending their life cycle and proper functioning, reducing the amount of WEEE produced and avoiding further food waste. This action will take place in a demonstrative format, where concepts and their exemplification will be taught, and with interactive moments, in which participants will have the opportunity to express doubts about the themes presented. During the session, Lipor team with do a brief introduction to the CREW and EWWR Project and during the session we will learn more about repairing small equipments like microwaves, oven or refrigerators and with these, extending life cycle of equipments and reduce food waste.
