Queen’s are delighted to take part in European Week for Waste Reduction. We have a range of events and activities for staff and students to get involved in from learning how to sew on a button, get a new preloved outfit at our new  Student Swap Shop to getting out and about as part of our Big Autumn Litter Pick.

Repair Café for clothing and textiles Students and Staff Have you a favourite jumper or shirt but it needs a new button or has a rip in it. Bring it along on Monday 18th and our wonderful team of volunteers will give you advice and help to repair it.

 

They have repaired all kinds of things from teddy bears that needed some TLC, to Jeans that needed a patch, replaced buttons and everything in between. (First come first serve

 

Bring Your Own (BYO) Cup and enjoy free Tea/Coffee and sweet treats.

Reuse and Repair Students and Staff Join us for a fun event at 1 Elmwood to celebrate the opening of the New Student Swap Shop. We will have a pop-up Repair Café for your clothing and textiles.

 

You can find out all about the world of reuse and repair with the Northern Ireland Resources Network and Belfast Tool Library. Put your reuse, repair and reimagine questions to Sue Bamford from Tools for Solidarity – view her latest collection of reimagined pieces from preloved textiles.
