Screening and Panel with Schools around Food Waste_Thessaloniki Greece
• WHAT will be done
Description:
On 21st of November 2024 Stimmuli for Social Change will be hosting a screening in collaboration with the Creative Europe Media project EU Youth Cinema: Green Deal in Thessaloniki for over 300 students and facilitate a panel discussion with representatives from the field of waste reduction, journalists and the Municipality. Our thematic focus will be food waste practices and ways forward for our city.
Panelists will be team members of Incommon Thessaloniki, from Parallaxi free-press magazine and the Vice-mayor for Cleaning & Recycling of Thessaloniki.
Stimmuli has run several projects on food waste management for all levels of education, as well as many projects focusing on sustainability.
Indicatively:
FOORDRESCUE project adds to the ultimate aim to fight climate change, tackling the ever-increasing concern of Food Waste. It aimed at designing an innovative educational curricula, that will help school teachers and students to become familiar with sustainability awareness in topics as food waste, sustainable food consumption, food security, environmental citizenship etc. The implementation of the project incorporated Experiential and Project-based learning, Maker Education and Youth Participation Methodologies to school teachers and students, in order to foster green and 21st century skills.
EduNUT project aims to spread future thinking over food systems, and encourage teachers & students to approach them holistically & critically and with multiple perspectives in mind, while taking responsibility for their own actions as members of their social systems. Additionally, the project will also support the development of competencies, such as oral presentation, critical thinking, self-awareness, collaboration, navigating complexity, pro-activity, analytical and ethical thinking..
