Sorting analysis of biowaste, with emphasis on determining the proportion of food waste
A sorting analysis of separately collected bio-waste with a focus on determining the proportion of food waste is part of the CARE4CLIMATE project. The first sorting analysis of bio-waste was carried out in 2021 and 2022 (autumn/winter 2021/2022 and spring/summer 2022) in the area of Snaga Maribor. In order to carry out the sorting analysis, the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Energy prepared a guidance document defining the methodology for determining the composition of separately collected biowaste, with an emphasis on determining the proportion of food waste. The sorting analysis carried out in 2021, taking into account the seasonal impact (annualized), showed that in the whole monitored area the share of food waste (edible and inedible part and packaged unused food) in the biowaste was 17.1%, while the share of the edible part in the total structure of food waste was 18.7%.
On 12 November, we will start a second sorting analysis in the area of Snaga Maribor, which will last until 28 February 2025 (autumn/winter 2024/2025). The analysis will more precisely determine the share of food waste in biological waste and the share of edible food in waste.

Sortirna analiza bioloških odpadkov s poudarkom na določanju deleža odpadne hrane
Sortirna analiza ločeno zbranih bioloških odpadkov s poudarkom na določanju deleža odpadne hrane v okviru projekta CARE4CLIMATE. Prva sortirna analiza bioloških odpadkov je bila izvedena v letu 2021 in 2022 (jesen/zima 2021/2022 ter pomlad/poletje 2022) na območju Snage Maribor. Za izvedbo sortirne analize je Ministrstvo za okolje, podnebje in energijo pripravilo navodilo, v katerem je opredelilo metodologijo določanja sestave ločeno zbranih bioloških odpadkov s poudarkom na določanju deleža odpadne hrane. Izvedena sortirna analiza v letu 2021 je ob upoštevanju sezonskega vpliva (preračun na letni ravni) pokazala, da je na celotnem opazovanem območju delež odpadne hrane (užitni in neužitni del ter zapakirana neuporabljena hrana) med biološkimi odpadki znašal 17,1 %, medtem ko je delež užitnega dela v celotni strukturi odpadne hrane znašal 18,7 %.
12.novembra bomo pričeli z drugo sortirno analizo na območju Snage Maribor, ki bo trajala vse do 28. 2. 2025 (jesen/zima 2024/2025. Z analizo bomo natančneje določili delež odpadne hrane med biološkimi odpadki ter delež še užitne hrane med odpadki.
