Sustainable Celebrations for World Children’s Day
• WHAT will be done
Description:
As part of the upcoming European Week of Waste Reduction (EWWR) 2024 and in celebration of World Children’s Day on November 20th, Sacred Heart Junior School will be hosting a waste-free pasta lunch for all Junior School students. To eliminate single-use items, each student will be asked to bring a reusable container or lunchbox along with reusable cutlery, ensuring that no waste is generated and that any leftover pasta can be taken home at the end of the day.
Adding to the day’s excitement, students will participate in The Great Green Magic Show, an interactive performance designed to inspire young audiences with essential lessons on the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Part of the Culture Pass Program 2024-2025, this action-packed show will engage students with captivating magic tricks and hands-on activities, merging entertainment with environmental awareness. This unique show will be a perfect way to celebrate World Children’s Day: while children enjoy the fun of magic, they will also learn valuable lessons about caring for the planet and preserving it for themselves, the future generation.
