As part of the efforts to reduce waste and promote sustainability, the Malta International Airport returns certain glass bottles, along with 18L water bottles to suppliers on a weekly basis. These returned bottles are then reused by the supplier, thereby prolonging the lifespan of these bottles and reducing landfill waste. An average of 480 glass bottle and 72 18L water bottles are returned to suppliers every week.
