The Municipality of Athens will conduct an Animation Workshop on the reuse and recycling of clothes, as well as responsible consumer behavior on 30 students of the 9th High School of Athens. It will be a 2 days workshop on the 13th & 14th of November 2019 at 11:40am to 1:30pm during the European Week for Waste Reduction 2019.

Participants in this workshop will create a short animation film on the environment, reuse of clothes, ways of recycling clothes, and how they can help the environment through proper consumer behavior.

At the same time, they will learn the papercut animation technique (cardboard film making and drawing). They will work with traditional materials (cardboard, plasticine, etc.) to make the figures and environments that each scene of the film requires.

In the next stage, they will photoshoot frame by frame, by moving the figures slightly. This creates the illusion of stop motion.

The result of the process will be a short animated film for the recycle and reuse of clothes.

At the end of the action, and specifically on Tuesday 19/11/19 at 10:00 on the 9th High School of Athens there will be an event featuring the film created by the children with the presence of the Mayor of Athens and Vice Mayor of the Department of Cleaning and Recycling of the Municipality of Athens.
