WHAT will be done

Description:

GREENTalk – Let’s Talk About Waste

We have partnered up with ReRoot and Żibel to organise a talk for our employees about the dangers of improper waste disposal, as well as sharing practical tips on how they can minimise their waste footprint at home and at the office. This session will kick off an educational initiative called GREENTalks, which will extend into the coming year and introduce our employees to other sustainability related topics, including emissions, water stewardship and climate change.

During European Waste Reduction Week, we shall also be uploading a number of sustainable gifts on our employee digital reward platform. These items include reusable bottles, reusable make-up pads, and resealable food storage bags to eliminate food waste, and are aimed towards supporting employees in making small lifestyle changes.

Malta International Airport has accelerated its efforts to better manage its waste in recent years, including through the replacement of plastic water bottles used in meetings with glass jugs, the introduction of organic waste bins at the offices, and the replacement of several other single-use items with biodegradable or more environmentally friendly alternatives. Malta International Airport hopes the through the upcoming GREENTalk about waste and SUPs, employees will better understand how they can contribute to the company’s waste-reduction targets, particularly its landfilled waste per passenger target, and to the reduction of waste in general.
