Beach Placard Competition

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

Xghajra is a popular area during summer due to its beautiful beach, however unfortunately, residents and other people enjoying the beach often leave a lot of litter behind, especially cigarette butts, plastic (which the wind often blows into the sea) and dog poop. Furthermore, recycling is not taken that seriously. We believe that through teaching children about the importance of keeping beaches clean, the result is twofold, a future generation of aware adults, and the fact that children often teach their parents too.

Therefore the students from Xghajra Primary will enter an art competition to create positive messages to this effect, and in collaboration with Xghajra’s Local council, the Mayor will sponsor a number of placards, which will then be placed around the beach!

The competition and results will be held from Monday 19th to Thursday 22nd November, and on Thursday the posters which will be made into placards shall be chosen and published.
