Repair Cafe Belfast is holding a week-long celebration of mending to give inspiration and practical skills that encourage everyone to get involved in repairing their clothes. We want to show how mending can be positive, creative, good for us, the things we love to wear and the planet.

Through a series of online and in person workshops, we’ll share mending skills that equip people to repair more clothing. With everything from mending basics to using your sewing machine, help with mending dilemmas and visible mending techniques, it’s your chance to learn a practical and enjoyable skill from our fantastic sewing volunteers and a few invited guests.

On Saturday 27 November, we’re super excited to be taking over a shop unit in Castlecourt Shopping Centre in Belfast city centre for one day only to showcase how easy, creative and meaningful mending can be. Bring something for our sewing experts to fix or pick up a free garment in need of a light repair and let us help you rescue it from the scrapheap! See displays of beautifully and colourfully mended items, and have a go at different mending techniques our repairers will be demonstrating.
