WHAT will be done

Bring a gift: for the children, for the environment!

For this year’s event, we will align sustainability with social charity by inspiring children to develop the gift of giving.

Every year, the toy industry produces a huge number of items which are mostly made from plastic and end up being discarded in the environment or landfills, affecting ecosystems of all sorts – including marine life.

Since sustainability is all about communities, circular economy plays a big role in breaking the chain of extraction-production-consumption-disposal.

Therefore, we will collect second-hand toys in good condition from the community and distribute them to the little ones in need. The collection will happen not only during the EWWR Week, but also until the 12th of December.

Under-privileged, less fortunate children will receive the toys with the love they deserve, and for the environment this is a huge gift as well!

Only toys in good condition.

Collection dates: 20th of November – 12th of December 2021

Leave your toys at the Aquarium reception with the staff during opening hours.

Toys will be checked, cleaned, quarantined and eco-friendly wrapped.

What you have to do

Step 1: Find a toy in good condition at home that is not being played with anymore. Clean it and bring it with love to the Malta National Aquarium.

Step 2: Leave your toy with our staff at the Aquarium Reception during opening hours.

Step 3: Follow our social media for updates on the delivery before Christmas.

Let’s make the real Christmas spirit… green!
