COVID-19 poses many social and environmental challenges to the Green, Zero-Waste Europe we are struggling to build. We use in our everyday lives cleaning products contained in non-recyclable plastic packages that are extremely toxic and pollutant for our environment, our biodiversity and our society. Many of them travel from our sinks through a whole water system that ends up in the oceans. The CD-Clean Urban Mobility COVID-19 is a project funded by the EIT Urban Mobility project that represents a non-toxic and eco-friendly alternative to replace these conventional cleaning and disinfectant products, preventing a massive over- and misuse that provokes several types of waste. Clean-ups in oceans are not enough, CD-Clean Urban Mobility COVID-19 is coming up with an impactful solution to move away from the linear take-make-waste model through a long-lasting product that avoids pollution.

Our speakers will share their experience in chemical waste management in the COVID-19 era in order to reach the public and private sectors, and the civil society. They will as well show different European funding tools devoted to scientific research innovations such as CD-Clean Urban Mobility COVID-19. Together, we will make its attendees more aware and committed to the cause of reducing waste generation as indicated by one of the main 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle).

The commitment of the members of this project is both to the health crisis, urban mobility, as well as waste reduction, through social awareness. This is why the CD-Clean Urban Mobility COVID-19 project is committed to the 2030 Programme for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: 3 (Good Health and Well-being); 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation); 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy); 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth); 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure); 13 (Climate Action) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
