The school is going to organise a Celebration Open Day with the theme Upcycling. Activities carried out during the full school day will adhere to the theme and include the following:
The morning assembly will take place at 8.30am as usual. A mascot from Wasteserv Malta will be at school to talk to the children about recycling batteries. The year 3 classes will sing three songs about recyling.
Each class will prepare activities/special lessons during the day where parents will be invited to join.
Story telling sessions will be held in the school library related to theme.
Selling of obsolete textbooks not in use. Instead of throwing these textbooks, they will be sold at a cheap price for children to use at home.
During breaks, healthy food will be sold at cheap prices.
Wasteserv Malta will have a stand containing information about upcycling. Personnel from Wasteserv Malta will also do presentations/talks to parents in the school hall.
Continuation throughout the day of the concrete garden and upcycling of unwanted furniture which is used again in our school. Work carried out by the EkoSkola committee.
