Charity Book Fayre
• WHAT will be done
Description:
A circular is going to be sent in the first week of November informing the parents that they may start sending any children’s books that their daughter does not need any more and that they may wish to donate to the school. Used children’s books are going to be collected and a stall is to be set up in one of the rooms at school. On the 25th, 26th and 27th of November, each class will visit the Book Fayre and children will be able to choose books they wish to buy from the selection donated. Pupils will donate money to pay for their books and place it in the piggy banks themselves. The money collected will be given to the local charity ‘L-Istrina’. In this way the children are donating books they no longer need avoiding waste, encouraged to buy previously used books in a bid to nurture the mindset that we can also buy second hand items and not only new ones whilst contributing to a worthy cause for people in need – the idea of charity.
