GEBZE MUNICIPALITY-COMPOST PRODUCTION FACILITY-MARKET WASTES vitalize THE SOIL.

1. Within the scope of the European waste reduction week, approximately 5 tons of organic biodegradable wastes generated in the Friday market, which is the largest market of Gebze established in our Mevlana modern indoor market place, are used in the compost facility we have established in the market and converted into organic fertilizers. The facility work announced to our market saller as part of the Waste Reduction Week was appreciated and adopted by our tradesmen. They collect the organic market wastes at the end of the dayt at a separate point and deliver them to our worker, and then the waste generation is prevented by approximately 60% by feeding them to the machine by our personnel.
   The compost(soil) produced here every 15 days is distributed to our citizen, and to our market staff and to all our fellow citizens.
   The remaining compost fertilizer is used in the greenhouse of our municipality’s park and gardens department to improve the soil and increase the fertility of the soil.
   With this work, which contributes economically to both our citizens and our own park and gardens department, we have reduced our total waste amount and benefited our country by economically benefiting as well.
