Compostar a brincar

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

47% of waste collected in 2018 is biodegradable waste. One way to reduce the production of this type of waste is composting. To instill the habit of simply composting this type of waste in children is to prepare them to be environmentally proactive citizens and aware that small individual gestures make the big difference in the sustainability of the planet.
The action thus intends to communicate through the practical implementation of the composting technique that on-site waste reduction brings many benefits and requires little effort. Just a change of gestures and attitudes. Instead of disposing of the biodegradable waste into the container of undifferentiated waste, simply forward it to the compostor and this allows us to later return what has been taken away and not taken advantage of!
The project will develop as follows:

Phase 1 – Listening to schools’ interest in participating in the composting campaign (already completed)
2nd phase – sensitization of the teacher responsible for the subject of composting, problematic and reduction of biodegradable waste); audit visit (amount and nature of biodegradable waste produced, definition of appropriate place for composter placement) to participating schools (from 16 to 24 November)
3rd phase – Sensitization of students to the problem of production / reduction / routing of biodegradable waste, compost delivery, practical explanation of the operationalization of the composting process
Phase 4 – Monthly monitoring and guidance of the composting process
Phase 5 – Use of compost to improve the school’s green spaces by offering and planting some ornamental plants (End of school year)
Phase 6 – Campaign Evaluation and Internal Reporting (June 2020)
