Composting campaign: Set up of food waste caddies and tumbling composter

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

Food waste generated by the school had previously been placed in home composting bins but wasps had become a problem and so this had ceased. Julie obtained 16 food waste caddies from her local recycling officer, asked the recycling officer to deliver a recycling assembly, launched the Eco-code for the school and set up the food waste caddies to collect the food waste generated in the school. Julie arranged for the purchase of a tumbling composter so that the pupils could begin composting food waste again. The school is a registered Eco-school and hopes to obtain it’s green flag!
