Do you have sports-shoes to throw away because in bad conditions?
If the opportunity to give them to someone else is not acceptable given their conditions, we have an alternative solution in order to avoid you could throw them away in the residual waste that means incinerating them in many cases.

La Novella association, in cooperation with important national realities such as Fare Verde onlus and the Zero Waste Regional Coordination (Lazio- Italy), are glad to propose an initiative aimed at collecting old sports-shoes to be given to a local enterprise that works on the construction of cycle lanes.

The initiative will start from 15 November and will end up on 15th December, passing throw the “European Week for Waste Reduction 2015”-period.

This was possible thanks to two big local sport-shops of the city of Viterbo that didn’t have doubts in joining the initiative by collecting the old shoes brought.
So the citizens of Viterbo will have the chance to bring their old sports-shoes to these two local sport-shops and they will receive a discount by them if they should decide to buy a new pair of shoes.

All the shoes collected will be brought by La novella association to this enterprise (working in the province of Rome), that will use them for building cycle lanes in the region by using the rubber their are made of. It will be a donation to this enterprise: so no money transfer to anyone.

The project will be promoted through all the channels of the associations possible (social networks and e-mail), inviting everyone to join the initiative and to share this news through their contacts.

We will also ask people to send us a picture of the moment of the donation of their shoes and, if they agree, we will publish them on the Facebook page of the association!
