Reducing Food and Drink Packaging Waste at School using Reusable Containers-Μειώνουμε τις συσκευασίες φαγητού και υγρών στο σχολείο χρησιμοποιώντας επαναχρησιμοποιούμενες συσκευασίες

We have noticed that most of our pupils bring every day single use packaging containers/bags/bottles for their snack and drinks. This leads to a large amount of daily waste resulting just from their food and drink consumption. Our aim is to reduce food and drink packaging waste at school starting from the European Week of Waste Reduction by encouraging our pupils to use reusable food and drink containers and establisingh a more sustainable way of living in our everyday life.

We would like to talk to our pupils about the importance of waste reduction and encourage them to bring reusable food and drink containers at school. Then we will record the number of single use food packaging and drink containers that was reduced during the EWWR and based on literature research we would like to estimate the impact that this action has.

Ideally this action will become part of their everyday routine and will promote a more sustainable way of living.
