ECOTÁXI is a project developed in the Eco-Oficina Atelier, within the scope of implementation of the Occupational Strategic Plan of the Activities and Training Center
for Inclusion (ATCI), the social response of the Integrated Disability Support Center (IDSC) of Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Porto (Holy House of Mercy – SCMP).
This object conceived by the clients and built entirely through the reuse of waste material existing in the institution (wood chair, computer monitors), aims to promote the awareness of our customers for recycling and environmental sustainability, through conscious collection of different surplus materials that result from the activities implemented in the workshops of Weaving, Plastic Expression, Literacy & Citizenship, Activities of Daily Living, Scents and Woods, as well as in different spaces of the institution, such as the secretariat, the kitchen, the clothes room and the bar.
ECOTÁXI integrates deposits for 6 recycling circuits that are differentiated for the
collection of Glass (green), Plastic and Metal (yellow), Paper and Cardboard (blue), Textiles (pink), Cork (golden) and Coffee Capsules (grey).
The operation of ECOTÁXI is dynamized by 2 customers who travel weekly by the premises of the ATCI, making itself announced with a peculiar sounding horn, and that are interacting with colleagues from other rooms while they collect the material that would be disposed of in the trash.
The collection of these materials allows, together with customers, to idealize and
build products with different functionalities, both for customers individually or for the institutional dynamics itself.
This internal recycling dynamic promotes the circularity, the self-sustainability of the occupational space, the interpersonal relationship between clients and enhances the creation of customer artwork.

O ECOTÁXI é um projeto desenvolvido no Ateliê de Eco-Oficina, no âmbito da implementação do Plano Estratégico Ocupacional do Centro de Atividades e Capacitação para a Inclusão (CACI), resposta social do Centro Integrado de Apoio à Deficiência (CIAD) da Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Porto (SCMP).
Este objeto idealizado pelos clientes e construído totalmente através do reaproveitamento de material de desperdício existente na instituição (banco de madeira, monitores de computadores), pretende promover a consciencialização dos nossos clientes para a reciclagem e para a sustentabilidade ambiental, através da recolha consciente de diferentes materiais excedentes que resultam das atividades implementadas nos ateliês de Lavores & Tecelagem, Expressão Plástica, Literacia & Cidadania, Atividades de Vida Diária, Aromas e Madeiras, bem como em diferentes espaços da instituição, tal como a Secretaria, a Cozinha, a Rouparia e o Bar.
O ECOTÁXI integra depósitos para 6 circuitos de reciclagem que se diferenciam para a recolha de Vidro (verde), Plástico e Metal (amarelo), Papel e Cartão (azul), Têxteis (rosa), Cortiça (dourado) e Cápsulas de Café (cinzento).
O funcionamento do ECOTÁXI é dinamizado por 2 clientes que circulam semanalmente pelas instalações do CACI, fazendo-se anunciar com uma buzina de som peculiar, e que vão interagindo com os colegas das outras salas enquanto recolhem o material que seria dispensado para o lixo.
A recolha destes materiais permite que, juntamente com os clientes, se idealizem e construam produtos com diferentes funcionalidades, quer para os clientes individualmente quer para a própria dinâmica institucional.
Esta dinâmica de reciclagem interna promove a autossustentabilidade do espaço ocupacional, o relacionamento interpessoal entre os clientes e potencializa a criação artística dos clientes.
