En Köpfri Dag
• WHAT will be done
Friday the 25th of November marks the Buy Nothing Day, an international movement that is recognized in Sweden as En Köpfri Dag. As a counter-weight to the consumerism of cultural staples like Black Friday, the Buy Nothing Day implores you to not buy anything for 24 hours. It encourages you to think about and question your own consumption patterns.
Beyond observing the day, En Köpfri Dag has a permanent presence on the web and social media. The website enkopfridag.se does not only encourage its visitors to observe the day, but is also a regularly updated blog and contains informational and inspirational videos about consumption and the climate. Additionally, the initiative runs active accounts on Twitter and Facebook.
