Enjoy playing game the second time

WHAT will be done

Playing board games brings family and friends closer together, giving new knowledge and skills in the meantime. It makes warm and friendly atmosphere in the dark winter eves when you wish to do something else than watching TV but outside is too cold and too dark to undertake something there… You would like to give as a Christmas gift to your beloved little ones some board games but the new ones in the shop shelves are too expensive …

Valmiera Local Government in cooperation with the regional waste management company ZAAO Ltd., Valmiera Tourism Information Centre, Valmiera Youth Centre “Vinda” and the Valmiera Region Community Foundation organizes the action “Enjoy playing game the second time”. Everyone who has good quality developing and educating board games, sports games and developing toys, that are not needed anymore, can bring them to the “Games handover point” in Valmiera Tourism Information Centre. From there at the end of the action they will find new owners that need them the most. Thus good habits in giving goods a second life will be promoted.

The action will start with the opening event on 20th November, 2015 at 16:00 (local time) where the first games will be donated and the joy in playing board games will be tried out within the “Board game challenge”.
Donation of the games will be possible the whole week till 27th November, 2015, 11:00 (local time) when the games together with the special donation box will be handed over to Valmiera Region Community Foundation for finding new owners and the acknowledgment – gift cards – will be raffled.
