• WHAT will be done
Description:
- Launch of Burgess CSR Policy together with the formation of Burgess Blue Oceans team to spearhead global initiatives and education within the company and the MC Green Team to carry out local initiatives that involve staff directly.
- Sign up to the Monaco Pact for Energy: In our office we are adjusting our operations to reduce our environmental footprint. Initiatives will cover the areas of Transport, Waste and Energy. Actions will include a programme to use the Monabikes for commuting around Monaco; ongoing awareness campaign around waste and recycling; challenges between departments to reduce waste; educational campaigns designed specifically for children of our staff.
- Marketing Audit: We are using this week to start a global audit on the footprint of our marketing operations. The results will be used to inform future marketing initiatives and reduce waste in production and shipping to our offices worldwide.
- Company travel is now subject to a environmental offset fee.
- Office waste is now being used to create composting under the programme run by the Societe Monegasque d’Assainissement. We are planting a herb garden for use in the office kitchen using our compost. This will also reduce what staff are buying to accompany their meals.
- IT and Energy: We are using this week to start an awareness and action campaign through all our offices, starting in Monaco. This will highlight the environmental (and financial) impact and cost of storing data (emails and files) that are no longer needed, and will then set challenges for a clean up of unused IT data.
