The following are the various initiatives that will be undertaken by Malta Freeport Terminals during ‘European Week for Waste Reduction’ EWWR 2018

1. Team-Building Activity

The Company will be organising a team building activity for its employees which will focus on the theme of EWWR 2018 – Hazardous Waste Prevention: Time to Detox. The team building event will involve a number of games and will be held in the village core of Birzebbuga where Malta Freeport Terminals is located. The main objective of the team building exercise is the effective dissemination of this year’s core message by the Freeport’s employees to various people from all walks of life in a fun and engaging manner. In fact persons of different ages and interests will be encouraged to participate with the Freeport’s employees as the games are going to be held at four prime places in Birzebbuga – Birzebbuga Primary School, Birzebbuga Church Parvis, Birzebbuga Aquatic Club and Pretty Bay. The final location will be in a garden in Birzebbuga where teams will converge and exchange the gold coins they receive during the games into prizes which will include trees for tree plantation to be held during EWWR 2018; used computers which will be fixed by Freeport’s employees and given to the Adult Day Care Centre and the Birzebbuga Primary School and many other eco-friendly products and recycled objects.

During the team building activities the employees will be asked on this year’s theme of EWWR 2018 and general questions on the 3Rs as well as on the incentives being pursued by Malta Freeport Terminals Limited to reduce waste.
