H20 on the go

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

H20 on the go encourages businesses to offer free refills of water and citizens and tourists to carry and use a refillable water bottle. Participating businesses receive a window sticker as a physical representation of their willingness to fill water bottles and Council maps all these businesses using an online story map which combines a brochure and a map. This story map highlights where participating outlets are and also contains information on why refilling bottles is a good idea.

Our focus is on reducing single use plastic waste but also to promote the fact that bottled water in Northern Ireland is good quality and considerably cheaper so there are clear cost benefits for those who switch from plastic bottles of water.

During EWWR Week we will be providing posters to all participating outlets reminding people why and how single use plastics can be avoided as well as asking people to send in photographs of reusable bottles in action. The posters will carry a link to the website and a QR coade for quick access. Winning photographs, to be selecetd by an independent judge will receive a specially branded steel water bottle.
