WHAT will be done

Description:

Hampshire County Council’s waste prevention initiative is launching its new ‘Get Involved’ webpages during EWWR. The pages are a hub for all members of the community who want to do more to reduce their own waste. The resources include:

  • Guidance on organising an online swap event with friends and family
  • An interactive map to find local community groups involved in waste prevention
  • Guidance on reusing and repairing household electrical items
  • A list of existing education resources and books for schools and other groups, e.g. Scouts etc
  • Information for community groups considering starting initiatives such as repair cafes, ‘Library of Things, nappy libraries or community composting
  • An online ‘Trumps’ game highlighting the hidden environmental impacts of food waste
  • Information on our community champions scheme
  • Details of our Waste Prevention Community Grant Fund
