Mtarfa Scout Group action; aims to raise awareness how we can all reduce toxic products used around our homes. The group will do a vast research for natural ingredients that can be easily used as alternatives replacement of chemical products used on a daily basis. This research and practice workshop will be done from Saturday 17th November till Friday 23rd November with our Scouts members and leaders.
On Saturday, 24th November, 2018; the scouts will organise a 3 hour session including a discussion/information session and conduct a number of hands on activities. The group will invite the members relatives and local residents via a promotional campaign on social media and inform parents/guardians on picking up their children. Scouts members with the assistance of their Leaders will be preparing a presentation for the information session and also they will prepare the necessary natural ingredients to do a hands-on workshops. Recipes and tips will be made available via the Mtarfa Scout Group website and social media channels as well as QR Codes during the workshops for immediate access by the audience. The main objective is to share and provide ease access of awareness and information to the general public. The Mtarfa Scout Group gather members from across the islands which eventually around 60% are out the locality of Mtarfa, this also reach the target that the event will be reaching audience out of the small town on Mtarfa.
A dedicated bin for used batteries will be also made available for the members to bring their own used batteries from home.
Persons attending the event will be given a FREE sticker created and personalised by Mtarfa Scout Group “No Junk Mail” to fix on their letterboxes to reduce the amount of advertisement printed material received on a regular basis.
The event will be FREE for the public to attend and will be promoted on social media and via the Local Council and other local groups.
