The wooden toys, whose lifespan is long, but their use time is small end up in the trash, while they could be reused or even utilized.

The Municipality of Eordaia organizes an information and awareness campaign within both the nurseries and the wider local community about the importance of reusing and recycling of wooden toys.

The Municipality along with DIADYMA (FOSDA of Western Macedonia) and AP.AN.E.M.O. (Social Cooperative Teamwork Enterprise Rehabilitation Disability ) will proceed to:

• inform nurseries and the wider local community about the concept of the Circular Economy, emphasizing actions to reuse and recycle wooden toys,
• construct special bins, which will be placed in all nurseries
• implement reuse and recycling actions by collecting wooden toys on the nurseries,
• send the collected material to AP.AN.E.M.O. which undertakes sorting, processing, and reuse of wooden toys.

Finally, our Municipality will carry out various activities for Recycling and Reuse of small wooden materials and toys so that in a playful and safe environment children can be sensitized, informed, expressed, created, and activated in matters of environmental protection.
