To raise awareness about recycling among school children, we organize together with the largest scrap metal handler in Estonia (AS Kuusakoski)an environmental campaign “Hunt for tealight cups” where this year pre-school, 1st-6th and 7th-12th grade school children have to collect as many empty tealight cups as possible.

Objectives of the campaign:
To raise awareness about recycling and waste treatment among school children; to promote environmentally friendly behaviour among school children; to support the image of AS Kuusakoski and OÜ Stillabunt and all the partners included (as sponsors who help giving awards to children) as environmentally friendly and responsible companies.
PS campaign is not profitable for any company included!

We have integrated strong messages into strategy that highlighted the importance of recycling and how notable contribution it is into the preservation of nature. We gave examples of what can be produced from empty tealight cups, from soda cans to various plane parts. We also use internal and external spokespersons.

The first “Hunt for tealight cups” campaign took place during Christmas of 2013/2014, when 3699 1st-6th grade school children from all over Estonia collected over 760 000 tealight cups with the total weight exceeding 1 ton. The campaign turned out to be a great success, which is why it was also continued in the following year.
The second year (2014/2015) there were participating already 6458 students who collected 1 446 771 pcs of empty aluminium tealight cups. The campaign was a huge success among children and this year two new categories are added to the competition: kindergarden children and 7th-12th graders.
