“Join the vibe: rethink – recycle! Redesigning municipal waste management from waste to resource”

Description:
Τhe Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy (YPEN), jointly with the German International Cooperation (GIZ), is organizing a workshop to inform and consult Municipalities of Attika, Central Greece, Peloponnese and Western Greece Regions about waste management topics. The national policy on municipal solid waste management will be presented by the General Secretariat for the Coordination of Waste Management.
A workshop will follow for the presentation of the results of two guides for the separate collection and cost accounting of municipal solid waste, in order to further promote the separate collection of municipal waste, as well as the evaluation and rationalisation of the management costs. In addition, good practices from Greece and other EU Member States will be presented and perspectives on how circular economy approaches can be integrated into local government issues.
The workshop is organized in the framework of the project “Technical support to the National Waste Management Plan of Greece”, financed by the European Commission (EC) via the Structural Reform Support Programme and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and implemented by GIZ, in close collaboration with the EC`s Structural Reform Support Service (SRSS). Places may only be assured for registered and confirmed participants.
