Just a Pair of Jeans Right?
• WHAT will be done
Description:
The COVID-19 pandemic seemed far away until a few days ago. In fast-moving and uncertain situations, the Local Councils’ Association used the social media as the main tool to keep delivering its vision to residents. Due to the pandemic and the Health Authorities restrictions which are developing and changing from time to time, the LCA moved away from the traditional way to deliver the message during the EWWR hence, this year the LCA have produced a short video clip to promote awareness of invisible waste and also encourage recycling and reducing.
The LCA gave some thought to the concept writing of this video clip and concluded that the message should be delivered using a common concept such as the purchasing of a new pair of jeans. The clip highlights the amount of invisible waste generating by producing a pair of jeans. this clip highlights that 7,000ltrs water footprint (one drink this amount of water in 5 to 6 years), 25kg of waste footprint, over 6kg co2 footprint and a waste sources of 91% fabric, 7.6% metal parts and 1.4% other waste.
The clip is aimed to highlight the amount of invisible waste generated and encourage re-using.
