21st November
A short assembly will be carried out by the Eko-Skola students to introduce the Week of Waste Reduction and the theme of this year – textiles. During this assembly the committee will share the message to maximize the use of the clothing that we already have and avoid purchasing of new items unless they are necessary. The committee will share with the rest of the school the planned activities.

22nd November
Students and staff will be asked to come to school wearing an item of clothing that is more than 2 years old but is still wearable and in good condition. In the case of the younger students, they can also bring something that belongs to a family member.

Years 1, 2 and 3
In class, they have a short discussion where students can show the item of clothing that they brought, who it belonged to and how old that item is. Photos are taken and displayed on the Eko-Skola noticeboard.

22-24th November
Years 4, 5, and 6
In the beginning of November (1st November), students will be invited to find an old item of clothing and think of a way to revamp it at home by using only things that they already have (example: old accessories, pieces of fabrics, ribbons) etc… This way even, parents/family will be able to join in the project. Students are invited to send three photos related to the project: one of the original item, one showing the process of up-cycling and one of the finished project. These photos are put together in presentation. During the Week of Waste Reduction, participating students bring the finished product to school and hold a fashion show for their peers during break time. A video of the fashion show will be recorded and shared with the rest of the school and on the school Facebook page.
