Let’s Reuse to Recycle!!
• WHAT will be done
Description:
Our main action will be recycling boxes made of used carton boxes will be distributed by the students in every class for both plastic and paper. The recycled materials will be collected from all boxes regularly and transferred to the main recycling bins which are found outside the main entrance.
Other activities will be held to promote awareness such as the waste free ‘ftira’ day that will be organised during this week in which the ‘ftira’ will be prepared by the parents for students. Students will buy local food products which will be used to prepare the ‘ftira’. Reusable non-plastic bags will be used when purchasing such products. Students will be asked to bring non-disposable cutlery and a plate from home.
Teachers will be given the opportunity to plan activities related to the reduction of waste for better sustainability. This will encourage students to apply such practices in their daily life. Cooking sessions will take place in which leftover bread buns and/or fruits from meals will be used in recipes.
A talk about recycling will be organised by Wasteserv for parents. This will encourage parents to practice recycling. A talk about recycling will be prepared for students by Kristina Casolani. A powerpoint presentation on the Centre’s waste reduction practices will be shown to parents and students.
Photos will be uploaded both on our Centre’s facebook page and the Centre’s website
