Zero Waste project has been carried out in our district for a long time. In this context, many recycling and waste reduction studies are being carried out. One of them is to make souvenirs from wood waste. Together with the students, the wooden waste that was thrown into the trash in the Fatih Municipality recycling workshop is decomposed and converted into souvenirs. Wood waste decomposed from garbage is cut into small round pieces. After the cut small wooden waste is sanded, the figures on the paper are transferred to the surface with the help of glue. As a finishing treatment, a souvenir with a magnet is obtained by attaching a magnet to the back of the wooden product. Thus, wood waste is saved from going to the trash and the amount of waste going to the trash is reduced. To date, almost 2000 students have participated in the recycling workshop in order to raise awareness by reducing waste and produce their own souvenirs. These handmade wooden souvenirs have become an unforgettable recycling symbol for students. As a result of the positive developments observed during the Waste Reduction week, a large and comprehensive recycling workshop will be held.
