Materials for Everyone at the RecuperARTI Center

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

The non-profit Organization RecuperARTI  opened a Creative Reuse Center in Pietrasanta, a little town in Tuscany (Italy) known as the “little Athens” of Versilia for her strong art culture.

Surplus items and materials generated during the manufacturing process of products donated from individuals and local businesses are diverted from the waste stream and collected, selected and stored in the RecuperARTI Center; these are made available to schools, non-profit organizations and artists. RecuperarARTI partners with companies that have reusable waste and to support schools and those who intend to carry out educational and creative projects but lack in resources, also contributing to the development of the circular economy, giving a value to what is otherwise considered a residue of production.

During the European Week for Waste Reduction, from Novembre 21st to the 29th, the materials collected in the RecuperARTI Center will be available to any individual interested in creative reuse. Anyone will be free to come to the Center scheduling an appointment and bring home any material would like for her/his personal creative projects. The materials may also be used for exploration and creative activities to do with children helping them spend quality time at home in this moment in which most sport and afternoon activities are interrupted. Thus a purpose will be given back to materials that would otherwise remain unused or throw away: creative reuse is when sustainability and creativity come together.
