As part of our strategy to promote corporate social responsibility, we, Nestlé Malta are running our popular Clothes Collection Drive for a 3rd successive year. The scheme is designed to encourage colleagues, customers, and the general public, to donate clean, pre-loved items of clothing at the Nestlé Consumer Centre in Lija. The clothes donated are then distributed to our local NGO partners (Caritas & YMCA) for re-use in both Malta and abroad. We (Nestlé) then match the weight of the clothes donations in food donations, which are also distributed amongst our local NGO partners (Foodbank Lifeline Foundation & Caritas). Through our local NGO partners, we drive awareness of social and -economic hardships, community spirit and ways in which we can help to be more sustainable and promote circular economy.

This year’s scheme will go live on Thursday 10th November 2022 up until the 10th of December 2022 and after just 3 days, we’ve already experienced an incredible response from the public, both at the Consumer Centre and on our social media page.

Last year we collected an enormous 1,701kg of clothing which we then matched in food donations, suffice to say, this yearly social initiative has proved to be very popular indeed! The goal is to continuously reinforce our commitment to our CSR strategy, whilst extending our support to the local community in a sustainable and eco-friendly way. Small acts of kindness towards other people or local and foreign entities, can have a huge impact on people’s lives and the environment. At Nestlé we are super excited to see if we can make an even bigger impact this year and help those in need as well as our planet.
