Currently our 1st Birkirkara Scout Group Head Quarters (HQ) has no system for waste sorting and recycling. There are only 3 bins allocated for general waste. A 2016 waste collection calendar is still attached to the main board.

Two types of waste will be included, as these are the major ones;

1) Mixed waste for recycling (Metal/Paper/Cardboard/Plastic).
2) General waste.

Re-use

4 HDPE purple buckets were taken from a pharmaceutical industry waste area and will be re-used as a containment for waste sorting.

Waste Recycling

An updated waste collection calendar of Birkirkara 2017 will be replacing the old one onto the main board.

On the 22nd November, a 30-minute discussion (time: 18:00pm – 18:30pm) will be held with the Cubs section to discuss waste sorting and re-use in a practical way before putting things into the bin.
