A study into behavioural patterns related to the waste management practices of the Ukrainian population was conducted in October 2020. The micro-narratives method was used for this research – micro-narratives are respondents’ stories and experiences derived from their own lives, and the lives of their friends, colleagues or a community. Describing them, respondents explained what they felt during the situation and who was responsible for it, estimated the volume of waste, and so on.

Nearly 500 people contributed to the study, helping us gain a broader picture of waste management all around the country. We are pleased to present the results of this study, and discuss with various stakeholders how we can use the data we obtained to achieve a reduction in waste volumes.
