Promote awareness about ‘Invisible Waste’ to our residents

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

We plan to promote awareness about the hidden or invisible waste generated from production. Often residents will purchase an item, and will recycle the packaging afterward, however there is no thought given to how the product was made, transported etc, which is the hidden cost and waste.

We will communicate a series of social media messages during EWWR. This will be on Facebook, Bin-Ovation app, Council website and via a press release.

The aim of this communication campaign will be to educate our residents about these hidden costs and waste generated. We will use WRAP/NCAP supported material. We hope it will empower our residents to think about what they’re buying; is it really necessary? Are there alternates that could be locally bought? Can you support a local retailer?
