Public Procurement for Sustainable Development: A framework, by Chatham House

Info

WHAT will be done

Description:

1/6 of global GDP ($13 trillion per year) is spent by governments on goods services, works and utilities. How have your government been purchasing goods and services? To what extent equity has to do with sustainable development and public procurement? Is the European New Deal tackling sustainable consumption? And how can states address sustainable procurement that works for now and for the future? With reference to case studies from Brazil, Papua New Guinea and Ecuador, Chatham House’s new report proposes a more ambitious and inclusive definition of sustainable procurement and a new framework for public procurement for sustainable development. Get inspired with some new insights on how you and your government can lead on this agenda!
