Re-Use of Items
• WHAT will be done
In the week prior to EWWR, Hilton Malta Team members will be encouraged to bring to work all items (eg clothes, toys, small appliances, electronics, books, etc) that they no longer require but are still in good condition and therefore re-usable. These will then be sorted into categories and on the dates indicated will be displayed next to the staff canteen. Team members will be able to take any item displayed against a nominal donation of 1 or 2 euro (depending on the worth of the item). All proceeds will go towards the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation, an organisation that helps people in Malta who currently struggle to feed themselves and their families. Any items not picked up will then be donated to local charity shops. The event will have extensive coverage with all the staff (currently some 520 persons) on all our internal communication channels including, emails, boards, shift briefings and the Hilton Malta private Facebook page and will highlight the benefits of both donating items for re-use as well as buying your needs from second hand/charity shops and making a bargain in the process.
