During the workshops on the effects of waste on birds and other wildlife, which have already been organized in several elementary schools in Sarajevo, the students have learned about the hazards the waste pose to the animals, but also that the plastic bottles and milk and juice cartons can be recycled into bird feeders, which ensure the survival of grain-eating birds during winter.
After the workshop, the students were given the task to design and make their own recycled bird feeder. The authors of the best solutions will be awarded. The feeders will be placed in schoolyards and regularly filled with bird seed.
All children and teachers participating in the action will get cotton bags with message related to the importance of clean environment for the wildlife.
