I collect used unwanted knitted woollen items which I undo to reuse the wool. Wool is collected from thrift shops, and even through our network with people donating unwanted woollen balls or items. With this wool, I knit various trinkets or small items of clothing and donate them to charity organisations to be sold during charity events. This is done through the charity group Knitting for a Cause. Proceeds go to families in need.

Apart from the benefit of helping others, it is important that we are doing so sustainably by repurposing what is considered as waste by others and transforming them into usable items such as festive  figurines, bookmarks, headbands, mobile cases, and other small trinkets that can be sold at an affordable price.

It is of great satisfaction to see this process yield great results all year round for the past eight years and we will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. The next project is revolving round the Christmas theme therefore we are once again in the process of collecting used woollen items or unwanted woollen balls with which I will knit a number of festive trinkets.
