Disposable nappies constitute a large volume of landfill waste in every city and Belfast is no exception. To encourage families to consider a more sustainable option The Belfast City Council Environmental Education Outreach Team offers parents who are resident in the city a free 2 week reusable nappy trial. This allows people to try out washable nappies instead of single use, disposable nappies without any cost.
The team also offer a £30 cash back scheme for people who spend over £50 on washable nappies. The scheme runs all year round and will take place during EWWR, it also helps to encourage waste reduction and a more sustainable approach for families.
